Work party at Campsite on Rodriguez Canyon Road

Campsite Cleanup - Across Banner Grade from the Banner Store, and in about 3 miles. We cleaned up an old (burned down and trashed) homesite - construction materials, appliances, junk - even an old boat motor. Volunteers (BCHC and others) hauled the debris to the Julian dumpsite. They waived the dump fees. Thanks to Kathleen Hayden for organizing the cleanup!

Caballeros del Sol is currently organizing our first projects. The group was formed in early 2000, and working with various agencies to set times and locations can take months.

Meanwhile, our members have worked with other local BCHC units on their projects, including improvements at the Whitaker Horse Camp in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park, clearing boulders from a section of the California Riding and Hiking Trail, and helping design the future equestrian facility in Mission Trails Park.
